Please join the Health & Housing Consortium's 16th Annual Convening on Thursday, October 29, 2026 at NYU Langone Health - Tisch Hospital. This full-day event unites stakeholders from healthcare, housing, social services, and government sectors to explore multi-sector policies and collaborative strategies aimed at advancing health equity and housing stability across New York City. Attendees will have opportunities to learn, ask questions, share insights, and connect with colleagues across the healthcare, housing, and homeless services sectors.

Protecting Health, Housing, and Food Access in a Changing Policy Landscape

As federal funding and policy changes threaten critical safety-net programs, providers are preparing to meet growing needs with fewer resources. This panel will explore the potential impacts on healthcare coverage, food assistance, and housing services, and discuss how New York City agencies and community organizations are adapting, advocating, and strengthening supports for vulnerable populations.

Supporting Residents with Complex Needs: Lessons from High Acuity Supportive Housing Pilot Programs

Supportive housing providers are increasingly serving residents with significant behavioral health, medical, and social needs. To address these growing challenges, the Corporation for Supportive Housing, with support from The Helmsley Charitable Trust, provided flexible grant funding to four providers to implement two-year pilot programs. These pilots support the health and well-being of supportive housing residents through flexible, innovative interventions that respond to the evolving needs of tenants and staff. This panel will highlight innovative approaches from the selected pilot programs, exploring strategies that strengthen staffing, partnerships, and service delivery to improve housing stability and resident well-being.

Bridging Systems: Nursing Homes, Behavioral Health, and Supportive Housing
People with behavioral health needs and histories of homelessness or incarceration often face significant barriers to accessing nursing home care, even when they require a level of support beyond what hospitals or supportive housing can provide. This panel will examine the challenges from multiple perspectives—including hospitals navigating discharge, supportive housing providers supporting residents with increasingly complex needs, and nursing homes struggling to serve individuals with behavioral health needs. Panelists will explore the systemic and operational barriers that leave people caught between systems, as well as opportunities to improve access, coordination, and continuity of care.
