NYLAG's LegalHealth division will provide information on how to assist tenants in receiving much needed repairs in their apartment, which can lead to improvements in their overall health. Senior Staff Attorney, Joseph Schofield, who leads the divisions Health Homes Project, will:

• Offer context for why the conditions of a tenant’s housing are so important to health
• Review the laws that protect the rights of tenants to live free of health-harming conditions
• Explore the health care professionals’ role as an advocate to empower tenants to enforce their rights
• Examine when legal intervention is necessary
