Do you work with clients who are searching for an apartment with a housing voucher (such as CityFHEPS, Section 8, EHV, or HASA)? Discrimination against housing choice vouchers is among the most common forms of illegal housing bias in NYC. Called "source of income discrimination," these practices prolong (or even cause) homelessness, exacerbate segregation, exclude families from high-opportunity areas, and impact physical and mental health.

Unlock NYC is a tech nonprofit that builds free digital tools for New Yorkers who have experienced housing discrimination because they use government assistance to help pay the rent. Join our training to learn how Unlock NYC can support you and your clients to:

  • Spot common source of income discrimination tactics
  • Build a strong paper trail and report unfair treatment
  • Seek accountability, justice, and consequences for bad actors
  • Join our community of tenants and advocates working to make the housing search fair and effective for all voucher holders
